Concept Artist
I have been working in the game development industry for over 10 years, since I graduated in 2006 with BA(Honors) in Information Design from University of Pretoria in South Africa.
Over the years I have experiences working on a diverse array of projects with varying art styles, ranging from massive online multiplayer role playing game, web browser games, mobile games, PC games, AAA Next gen console games, and VR games. With experience in Unity & Unreal game Engine.
Some of the clients projects I've worked with include Square Enix, Activision Blizzard, Koei, Capcom, FromSoft, Universal Studios, Disney,MGM and CrowdGate.
Wayi International Entertainment
Three months after I graduated I started off my first job as a concept artist at Wayi International Entertainment, working primarily on MMO RPG . Wayi's working environment although has certain level of management but still require the artist to work independently, so very often I was assigned a task to carry out with a deadline, and from the moment the task begins it pretty much a self report in process, typically I would report in the current progress once on Wednesday and once on Friday. The artist pretty much have to self manage from time to time, because the team leaders also have their own tasks to carry out, micro manage every single team member would mean less production time, thus lead to slowing down the entire production. On my second year I was Promoted to Senior concept artist, due to my ability to not only support various areas of production, but also a very supportive team player. At the time, my role ranges from character , Environment , creature & prop concept artist , hand paint texture artist and sometimes even a 3D artist. As Senior concept artist I helped junior concept artist adapt to the production pipeline and get used to our development team's working environment . While also help with checking and managing the outsourcing contents. Later down the road our team leader left the team, as the most qualified senior artist on the team, I took up his position as substitute team leader while I was still at Wayi. During that time I helped with the personnel recruiting process, develop the next new IP , and over seeing the production process.
XPEC Entertainment
After I left Wayi, I begin my new position in XPEC Entertainment as senior concept artist. XPEC Entertainment was also a self manage studio, but more technically advanced in terms of game development. My first project here was a movie related AAA console title, the art style here vary drastically though, due to the fact they were developing AAA titles for console, web , MMO, PC , mobile, and VR. Here I learnt to adapt to various art styles quickly, at the same time, I also had more opportunity to get involved in developing the core art style of the projects. Later in one of the projects I was given the opportunity to establishing the main visual identity for a brand new IP, where I come up with the visualization of the main player character , the world settings, enemies, weapons, UI, cut scenes, marketing arts etc.
At the time I was primarily tasked with designing character , Environment , creature, props& UI , providing 3D protoypes for the 3D production team using softwares sch as 3DS Max, ZBrush, 3D Coats , developing new IP & working on AAA titles such as Final Fantasy XV for console, web , MMO, PC , mobile, and VR.
Rayark inc.
After I left XPEC Entertainment , I took up my role as both lead artist & senior concept artist at Rayark inc. Here I am currently working on two projects simultaneously, one been Sdorica Sunset the mobile game where I take up the support role as the senior concept artist, and the lead level layout artist, while taking on the Lead Artist role on the PSVR title "Deemo Reborn".
Performs at a Senior Concept Artist level throughout pre-visualization and production of Mobile & VR titles. Develop and established art styles, color palettes and overall visual elements. Assist Founder &Producer & Art Director in creative vision and direction throughout production.
